I'm just experimenting with posting a link to a public Facebook group in a place which I know is searched by a certain major search engine, to see if it then starts searching the group, which so far it doesn't even seem to have heard of, let alone searched the contents of. This arises out of a discussion I had on another group as to the benefits and disadvantages of having a public group. The group is Inverness & Highland Antiques, Retro, Collectables buy sell group - which I set up several years ago, as the nearest comparable group was in Moray and I had something I wanted to sell locally. There must have been a need, as the group has grown to over 1800 members with very little work on my part, and continues to have regular posts both from local traders and private individuals (though the dealer posts now predominate).

Our new fridge freezer came without the wall spacers or instructions mentioned in the manual, and since it has wheels at the back, without the spacers it would have got shoved against the wall frequently in a busy household.
Turns out it uses two of the standard C00278297 spacers - but fits them in a different way to older smaller fridges. This information was difficult to find online or from Hotpoint/Indesit staff, so I thought I'd put it up here in a public place as with my past washing machine belt post which is frequently accessed. Here is (presumably) the instruction sheet that should have come with the fridge. The list below contains the latest items we have catalogued in our offline database. If you are reading this the same day it was posted then they may well not yet have appeared on any of the websites on which we sell (we generally update sites every few days, not daily). The printer's own double sided system uses the last edge printed to go back into the printer, and the printer jams.
I've always found that in order to print double sided you need to start with the same edge of the paper each time. So... I think... this works for me, even when there's an odd number of pages. This method has the paper come out stacked in the right order too. 1) Print all the even sides, in reverse order. In a 5-page document you'll have page 4 facing downwards, with page 2 facing downwards on top of it 2) Put the leading edge of your stack of printed paper back in, with the blank side uppermost. My printer prints on the upper side of the paper, if yours prints on the lower side then this will not work for you. 3) Print all the odd sides, but don't reverse the order - you'll have 1 facing downwards (with 2 on the back), then 3 facing downwards (with 4 on the back), then 5 facing downwards, taken from the the printers reserve of blank paper. How to replace the belt on a Hotpoint WMA58 washing machine - the quick and easy cable tie method9/15/2010 Our 6 year old WMA 58P washing machine stopped turning on Saturday (yes, the same day as my mother passed away). This week I replaced the motor brushes after a friend helped me get the motor off. But getting the belt back on (a new one as the old one was splitting) was decidedly difficult, especially as this is a fixed non-adjustable motor and there is no access to the back of the drum except from the top lid. The man in the spares shop said I would have to use brute force as it was supposedly a stretchable belt.
So I struggled with it and Googled for solutions without much success. Then I thought maybe I should buy the £5 downloadable repair manual from Selfix, but wondered whether they would give the same apparently ineffective solution as others. But in fact, when I looked through their FAQ I found the really ingenious answer. It's here: http://www.selfix-uk.co.uk/Belt-fitting.html The belts on the WMA and WMM range of Hotpoint Washing machines are loosely classed as stretchy belts (although you would never think it to look at them). This means that there is no adjustment on the motor. To fit a new belt (or even to replace one you have just removed) is simple if gone about in the right fashion. Whilst standing at the front of the machine, with the top and back inspection panel removed, lean over the machine and hook the belt over the motor pulley then feed it onto the right side of the main pulley as far as it will go. Hold it in place with a few cable ties wrapped around it and the pulley. Put your left hand inside the drum and rotate it slowly anti clockwise. This will draw the belt onto the main pulley and the cable ties will snap as the drum rotates. Incidentally I: * didn't put my hand inside the drum * cut the cable ties off with scissors once the belt had popped into place * adjusted the positioning of the belt by hand (to make it more central) afterwards |
